Survey conclusions

As President, I’m regularly engaged by members expressing their thoughts on what’s best for us. These views range from strategy to operations, canteen, or footballing suggestions, and often how much their sons love the vibe at The Den.

We commissioned the survey to give everyone a voice, and the feedback - almost 50% of the club’s membership of players, parents, coaches, social and those with a connection to the Lions – took the time to complete the questionnaire. The data set represented everyone from the Miniroos up to the Senior team! In doing so, we have taken the first step to the next era of our incredible club: thank you to all those of you who did the survey. Now you’ve spoken, what did we learn? We are optimistic about the club’s future, but we have a lot to do! Specifically, and in summary

· Our strengths and appeal lie in that we have a good quality about the club, parents and volunteers are strong assets, and that the Lions is community-focused and inclusive. We have strong family values underpinned by a strong culture. · This culture extends to juniors being coached to improve themselves both on & off the pitch, and generally our coaches are seen as high quality.

· The deepest weaknesses are also our biggest opportunities, namely our · Facilities · Absence of any women’s program · More youth development feeding into our Senior team · Wider community engagement beyond football · Communication to members, and that of the Club’s Vision.

So where to from here? The Committee will now formulate a strategy for the next four years – Lions 2025 – based on your feedback. This strategy will harvest our strengths & opportunities, fix the weaknesses and eliminate threats to deliver a club that will be considered the pinnacle of Monash’s sporting bodies.

The Committee thanks all Members who participated in the Survey.
